In
my personal songwriting, I've been branching out from my solo acoustic stuff lately (80s and modern pop). It's been fun. Although, listening to
Jon Foreman is bringing me back to the beauty of simplicity - an acoustic guitar.
There are a couple of songs by him that are straight out of the
Psalms. Although a bit "risky" for christian music, it's dark and honest stuff. I can respect that. My buddy,
Matt, and I talked about making an acoustic album writing songs from the perspective of Bible people. It was a good idea and I think I'm going to do it.
In other forms of music, I've decided that one of my life goals is to compose a symphony. I've composed a few things in life whether it's been on the computer or for a quartet and have played myself. It would be a dream to compose a symphony and watch it being performed. That's a big dream.
My friend, Alton, once said, "Music is the language of your soul."
i would like to speak fluently in that language.

lose the 80's
writing your symphony starts at the piano. i guess i'll have to buy my own instead of stealing the one you've claimed from mom and dad.
